Position Overview
This opportunity is for a seasoned communications expert located in the United States who will enhance impactful messaging and elevate brand presence within a mission-oriented organization. The role merges strategic storytelling, editorial skills, and project coordination to bolster thought leadership and external stakeholder engagement.
Primary Responsibilities
- Craft, edit, and proofread diverse external communication materials such as reports, white papers, toolkits, blog posts, and digital assets.
- Produce support content collaboratively with marketing including website text, landing pages, and thought leadership pieces.
- Ghostwrite and partner with subject matter experts to maintain a consistent organizational voice and messaging.
- Assist with executive communications including leadership messaging and external correspondence.
- Review and enhance internal communications including documents, presentations, and team resources.
- Conduct research to develop editorial resources, style guides, and communication instruments.
- Generate content for key initiatives including blogs, recaps, scripts, and campaigns.
- Collaborate on crafting storytelling approaches, key messaging, and communication strategies for organizational programs.
- Manage communication logistics for extensive initiatives and outward-facing projects.
- Support public relations and earned media tasks by drafting pitches, maintaining media contacts, tracking coverage, and coordinating media activities.
- Monitor industry news, trends, and relevant developments to strengthen thought leadership endeavors.
- Maintain editorial calendars, manage publication timelines, and organize workflows across communications and marketing teams.
- Oversee relationships with external contributors and internal stakeholders involved in content creation.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of five years’ experience in communications, journalism, public relations, content strategy, or a related writing-intensive profession.
- Outstanding writing skills adaptable to various formats including executive communication, long-form content, social media, and internal communications.
- Strong editing abilities encompassing developmental editing, copyediting, and meticulous proofreading.
- Capability to clearly translate intricate ideas into engaging content targeting diverse audiences.
- Proven skills in managing multiple projects, deadlines, priorities, and stakeholder coordination concurrently.
- Experience working cross-functionally with marketing teams, executives, and subject matter experts.
- Ability to thrive in dynamic settings with changing priorities.
- Preferred background in education, nonprofit, or mission-driven sectors.
- Superior organizational skills ensuring quality output even under strict timelines.
- Excellent interpersonal and collaborative teamwork aptitude.
