About the Resort

Yew Point at Hodson Bay is a pioneering eco-tourism destination located on the picturesque Yew Point peninsula by Lough Ree, County Roscommon. This project, part of the Hodson Bay Group, offers 36 luxury cabins alongside a restaurant and thoughtfully designed shared guest areas set within 140 acres of natural woodlands, meadows, and shoreline. Role Overview

The resort seeks a dedicated Landscaper to contribute to the formation, care, and enhancement of the grounds. This position involves both routine grounds care and the creative development of outdoor environments around guest accommodations and communal spaces.

Key Duties

Maintain gardens, lawns, planting areas, paths, entrances, and guest outdoor spaces ensuring consistent high standards.
Perform general landscaping and groundskeeping tasks such as mowing, trimming, pruning, planting, watering, and seasonal maintenance.
Create and enhance aesthetically appealing outdoor spaces near cabins, communal areas, and important guest zones.
Work on incorporating natural landscape features including planting beds, privacy screens, log walls, and boulder installations.
Care for walking trails, lakeside zones, outdoor furniture, signage, and decorative elements.
Ensure all outdoor spaces are neat, safe, welcoming, and hazard-free.
Appropriately and safely apply fertilisers, weed control measures, and other treatments as needed.
Maintain and operate gardening equipment and tools with safety and care.
Identify and communicate maintenance needs, safety issues, or areas requiring improvement.
Collaborate with Maintenance and Grounds teams on general upkeep and landscaping initiatives.

Candidate Profile

Experience in landscaping, gardening, horticulture, or grounds maintenance is required.
Enjoys practical, physical outdoor work and capable of manual labor tasks.
Possesses sound knowledge of plants, lawn care, and general garden maintenance.
Demonstrates strong attention to detail and pride in maintaining high-quality standards.
Has a creative approach to outdoor design and landscaping.
Able to work independently and contribute effectively to a team environment.
Reliable, adaptable, motivated, and effective in managing daily responsibilities.
Basic understanding of health and safety for outdoor work environments.
