Job description
Primary Responsibilities
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas to ensure a safe and efficient environment.
- Refuel vehicles and equipment regularly to maintain operational readiness.
- Clean tracks on tracked machinery and associated equipment to prevent malfunction.
- Carry out general yard duties such as mowing grass and collecting paper waste.
- Operate various site vehicles and equipment including water trucks, pickup trucks, sweepers, mowers, and trimming devices.
- Adhere strictly to company and governmental safety regulations and procedures throughout all operations.
- Conduct general maintenance and repairs within office areas, including painting and janitorial tasks.
- Manage and direct traffic flow at the site as required to ensure safety and efficiency.
- Perform any other assigned duties as requested by management to support site operations.
Job Requirements
- A high school diploma or GED is preferable but not mandatory.
- Must comply with company safety criteria for performing sensitive functions.
- Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively along with basic arithmetic skills.
- Capability to follow instructions independently and perform tasks with limited supervision.
- Proficiency in operating necessary job equipment safely and effectively.
- Strong practical reasoning to address and resolve routine problems.
Physical and Mental Demands
- Regular physical activity including standing, walking, bending, reaching, and lifting outdoors approximately 90% of the time.
- Use of hands and fingers; ability to kneel, crawl, speak, hear, climb, and maintain balance.
- Visual acuity requirements include close and distance vision, color and peripheral vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Capability to lift up to 65 pounds frequently and push or move 100 pounds with assistance.
Work Environment
- Frequent exposure to loud noises, humidity, various weather conditions (rainstorm, extreme heat and cold), moving mechanical parts, vibrations, toxic chemicals, fumes, and airborne particles.
- Outdoor work conditions predominantly (up to 100% of the time), including traveling routes away from the main branch throughout the day.
- Occasional work at elevated or precarious locations.
- Constant presence in motor vehicle traffic environments, often noisy surroundings.
