About White Stuff

White Stuff began in 1985 with a straightforward idea and has since developed into a multi-channel retailer operating shops and concessions across the UK and overseas. The brand offers womenswear, menswear, accessories and homeware, with a distinctive look shaped by in-house prints, fine detailing and thoughtful design choices.

The company places strong value on creativity, teamwork and enthusiasm for the brand. Its culture encourages ownership, entrepreneurial thinking and ongoing improvement, giving people room to contribute and progress.

About the Role

White Stuff is looking for a Junior Retoucher to join its Creative Team and in-house Photography Studio in London. Reporting to the Mid-weight Retoucher, you will help produce polished imagery for digital channels and support the creation of consistent, customer-ready visuals.

You will work closely with the Photography, Creative and Ecommerce teams to retouch and prepare imagery for online use, ensuring accurate colour matching and a consistent presentation across all customer touchpoints. In addition to ecommerce work, you may also assist with creative assets for campaigns, social media, print, press and marketing activity.

This position suits someone who understands retouching basics and wants to deepen their technical skills in a busy fashion retail setting.

Key Responsibilities

Your day-to-day work will focus on maintaining image quality, supporting production deadlines and improving workflow efficiency.

  • Retouch large volumes of ecommerce images, covering both model and still-life photography, while following brand standards.
  • Apply precise colour correction and keep imagery consistent across all asset types.
  • Assist with retouching for campaign, social, print and other marketing materials when needed.
  • Partner with photographers and studio colleagues to resolve image issues and uphold quality expectations.
  • Coordinate with the Mid-weight Retoucher and Post Production Manager to handle revisions and organise workload priorities.
  • Deliver finished images on schedule while paying close attention to detail.
  • Work within established studio processes and help refine best practices.
  • Regularly review your output and look for ways to improve speed and quality.
  • Support digital asset handling through studio workflows, including Capture One, DAM systems and emerging AI-assisted retouching tools.

What You Need

We are looking for a candidate with strong technical grounding, a collaborative style and a genuine interest in fashion imagery.

  • A portfolio that shows solid retouching ability in ecommerce and/or creative work.
  • Experience in a professional photography studio, creative agency or ecommerce setting is preferred.
  • Strong command of Adobe Photoshop and the wider Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Good understanding of colour correction, colour management and image optimisation.
  • Hands-on experience with Mac systems and Microsoft Office.
  • Strong organisational ability and comfort managing several priorities at once.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Confidence working with people across different teams and functions.
  • Interest in photography, fashion and digital content production.
  • Video editing experience would be an advantage, though it is not essential.
  • Awareness of, or interest in learning, Capture One, DAM systems and AI-assisted retouching tools.
  • Openness to new technologies and changing digital production workflows.

Personal Qualities

  • Sharp creative judgement and excellent attention to detail.
  • Strong standards and pride in producing high-quality work.
  • Positive energy, initiative and a willingness to learn.
  • Ability to stay effective in a fast-moving, high-pressure environment.
  • Adaptability to switch between high-volume production and more creative assignments.
  • Collaborative mindset and a team-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to producing the best possible imagery for customers.

White Stuff offers a supportive creative environment with opportunities to learn, grow and build your career.

  • Hybrid working arrangement
  • Annual bonus opportunity
  • Up to 25 days of holiday each year plus bank holidays
  • Two additional paid volunteering days per year
