About the Role
PWX Solutions (a PubWorX Company) is seeking a Junior Data Analyst based in New York, primarily remote with an expectation to work onsite 2 to 3 times monthly according to a preset schedule. The ideal candidate will assist the Analytics team in building reliable, repeatable reporting and data processes using SQL, Python, and version control tools. This position focuses on hands-on data manipulation coupled with generating business insights across marketing programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain, enhance, and automate recurring/internal and client-facing reports and dashboards.
- Utilize SQL and Python to boost reporting accuracy, minimize manual efforts, and build repeatable analytical workflows.
- Deliver timely and consistent reports in line with predefined schedules and ad hoc requests.
- Manage code using GitHub for collaboration and version control within the Analytics team.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to gather reporting requirements and convert them into automated solutions.
- Analyze data trends, variances, and anomalies, and clearly communicate outcomes to stakeholders.
- Support outbound marketing campaigns by creating and validating SQL-based audience selection processes aligned with business rules and campaign goals.
- Conduct routine data validation, quality assurance, and upkeep of data platforms and reporting datasets.
- Develop or refine quality checks to identify missing data, unexpected changes, and inconsistencies.
- Troubleshoot data discrepancies, identify root causes, and work with relevant teams to correct issues.
- Operate within cloud-based analytics environments enabling automation of reporting and data workflows.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in a quantitative, technical, or related discipline or equivalent practical experience.
- Between zero to two years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, reporting, or related technical environments; experience gained through internships, academic projects, bootcamps, portfolios, or self-study is welcome.
- Proficient in SQL for querying, joining, filtering, aggregating, validating, and troubleshooting data.
- Experience using Python for data analysis, automating reports, and supporting workflows.
- Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail and the ability to distill data into actionable business insights.
- Excellent oral and written communication capabilities.
- Capacity to juggle multiple tasks independently in a fast-paced work setting.
Preferred Additional Knowledge
- Familiarity with cloud-based data platforms, especially AWS services like S3, Lambda, and Athena.
- Exposure to AI-assisted coding or analytics tools with the capability to assess their outputs.
- Experience with Git or similar version control via professional, educational, or personal projects.
- Knowledge of writing SQL to assist marketing audience targeting and segmentation.
- Experience in publishing or media-related fields is advantageous.
Compensation and Work Conditions
The salary for this fully employed position ranges from $70,000 to $80,000 annually, dependent upon the candidate's qualifications and experience. Work authorization for the United States is required; visa sponsorship is not provided. PWX Solutions is not enrolled in E-Verify.
