About the Role and Compensation
This position is for a Junior Accountant based in Dubai, UAE, offering a monthly salary of AED 4,500. The employment contract spans two years and includes 30 days of annual leave compliant with UAE law. Gratuity is provided according to UAE labor regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Daily updating of bank balances for all accounts.
- Maintaining Google Sheets with detailed debit and credit line-item data from bank statements.
- Reconciling debit and credit items with appropriate annotations.
- Recording Owner's expenses and collections within the PMS system.
- Generating Owner's Statements, distributing these via email and PMS, and settling balances in Hostaway.
- Reconciling credit card statements accurately.
- Acting as the point of contact for auditors, addressing accounting and VAT inquiries.
- Providing required documents to Ascent Auditors following standard protocols.
- Managing credit card supporting documents, including completion and uploading of CCA Forms to Google Drive.
- Monitoring fund requirements, advising on funds movement, and negotiating exchange rates.
- Verifying Booking.com invoices and arranging payments, disputing discrepancies when needed.
- Sending payment requests through Airbnb and issuing payment links via Stripe and Hostaway.
- Creating manual invoices, quotations, and receipts as needed.
- Processing and executing payroll monthly for both Dubai and India operations.
- Entering and reconciling credit card sales, both online and physical.
- Generating and submitting GST Challans for Tamil Nadu and Maharashtra.
- Handling annual Professional Tax payments in India.
- Managing annual property tax payments for India.
- Preparing monthly staff gratuity calculations.
- Ensuring timely payments of recurring monthly expenses in Dubai and India.
- Preparing weekly payables, processing payments, sending payment advice to vendors, and recording transactions on Google Sheets.
- Executing fortnightly payments to service providers with accurate service verification and reconciliation.
- Reviewing India accounts for Royston & Estate and processing payments accordingly.
- Calculating and disbursing quarterly commissions in India.
- Adding beneficiary details and scheduling all necessary payments through banking platforms.
- Creating manual booking reservations and collecting payments.
- Adding services (such as EP, CF) within PMS as required.
- Updating and charging payment methods on PMS and Airbnb.
- Communicating with guests regarding payment failures and following up to resolve issues.
- Sharing guest payment confirmations via bank transfer, Zelle, cash, and Airbnb through email.
- Acknowledging guest payments in PMS, CM, and Airbnb systems.
- Handling cash and credit card sales transactions.
- Updating service sheets for same-day bookings (transport, chef, massage).
- Reconciling supplier invoices against purchase orders.
- Preparing documentation for HR and government-related tasks.
- Carrying out company-related processes with AMER, Tasheel, OnTime, and other government agencies.
- Organizing and maintaining all company documents in a systematic manner.
Preferred Profile and Qualifications
- Open to male and female applicants.
- Proficient in both written and spoken English.
- Possess at least five years of accounting experience.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree.
- Experience in the hospitality sector, such as hotels or travel companies.
- Capable of working independently and taking initiative.
- Familiarity with Google Sheets and Microsoft Excel.
