Journeyman Ironworker

Position Overview

VAST Steel seeks skilled and safety-conscious Journeyman Ironworkers to perform structural and miscellaneous steel erection and detailing across various projects in the Eastern Region.

Key Responsibilities

• Erect and detail structural and miscellaneous steel based on provided plans under the supervision of a field foreman.
• Safely rig, hoist, connect, bolt, plumb, and weld steel components as required.
• Adhere strictly to OSHA and company safety policies, including correct use of personal protective equipment and fall protection measures.
• Coordinate with field supervisors to maintain efficient work progress and quality standards.
• Follow foreman's instructions throughout all phases of steel construction and metal decking installation.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Minimum of two years’ experience in ironworking, with apprenticeship experience preferred.
• Proficient in steel erection, detailing, rigging, and welding techniques.
• Possession of OSHA 10 or 30-hour, welding, fall protection, and rigging certifications is an advantage.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 pounds, use ironworking tools proficiently, work at heights, and withstand outdoor work environments.
• Strong attention to detail, commitment to safety, and ability to work cooperatively in team settings.
