Java Developer

Overview

You will join the Resilience Scrum Team, playing a key role in upgrading and modernizing an extensive range of legacy Java applications and integration services. Your work will enhance the platform's resilience, security, and maintainability over the long term. This involves close collaboration with architects, security experts, DevOps personnel, product managers, and development colleagues to design, build, test, and deploy robust solutions.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and enhance Java-based applications using Spring and Spring Boot frameworks.
• Address security vulnerabilities and support migration to a new enterprise secrets management system.
• Assist in production deployments and troubleshoot live issues.
• Perform functional and regression testing to ensure solution quality.
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including design documents, deployment guides, and runbooks.
• Facilitate effective knowledge transfer to support teams to ensure operational continuity.

Required Qualifications and Experience

• 6 to 8+ years of professional Java development experience.
• Deep proficiency with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot technologies.
• Proven track record of upgrading and maintaining legacy Java systems.
• Experience in identifying and resolving security flaws in applications.
• Strong understanding of enterprise integration and distributed system architectures.
• Hands-on experience in supporting application testing, deployment, and production releases.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Excellent documentation skills covering solution designs, deployment processes, and operational procedures.

Additional Preferred Skills

• Background in financial services, capital markets, clearing, or trading platforms.
• Knowledge of secrets management and credential handling technologies.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps workflows.
• Understanding of resilience engineering and operational risk management.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms.
• Experience in large-scale application modernization or transformation initiatives.
• Ability to conduct structured knowledge transfer sessions for team enablement.
• Exposure to high-availability systems requiring strict uptime and operational resilience adherence.
