Project Overview
Bechtel has a longstanding track record of managing complex airport developments globally, including key roles in major GCC airports such as King Khalid, King Fahad, Dubai, Hamad, and Muscat airports.
Currently, Bechtel is providing project management consultancy for the King Salman International Airport in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. This facility aims to accommodate 120 million travelers annually by 2030 and 185 million by 2050, with cargo capacity up to 3.5 million tons. The project includes three terminals: a highly efficient low-cost carrier terminal, an innovative main terminal, and a private aviation terminal for VIPs.
Role Summary
The IT Support Engineer will be integral to the King Salman International Airport project, reporting directly to the Project IT Manager. The primary objectives are to deploy IT hardware, support user deskside needs, maintain network systems, and administer Microsoft 365 platforms. Additional duties include report and dashboard development, workflow automation, and IT asset management to ensure seamless project operations and client satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Deploy and maintain IT hardware and network infrastructures, providing end-user deskside assistance.
- Collaborate with Project IT Manager to define and implement IT requirements to support project workflows.
- Install and support standard business applications as per Global Business Unit (GBU) standards.
- Administer Microsoft 365 applications such as Teams, Outlook, and other collaboration tools.
- Ensure adherence to corporate, project, and GBU IT standards and security protocols in coordination with the corporate Geographic Information Office (GIO).
- Manage IT asset inventories through ServiceNOW and oversee IT stockroom operations.
- Participate in review sessions with business stakeholders to understand and support application processes.
- Contribute to updating and maintaining the application portfolio and assist with IT planning and coordination with contractors, partners, and clients.
- Create IT support documentation and conduct user training sessions.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent international qualification required.
- Experience ranging between 2 to 5 years preferred or alternatively 6 to 9 years of relevant work experience.
- Microsoft Fundamentals certification is advantageous.
- Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) certification advisable.
- Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) certification desirable.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Experience supporting IT infrastructure in large construction projects.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with integrated teams including clients.
- Proficient in troubleshooting and resolving end-user IT issues with established diagnostic methods.
- Advanced proficiency in SharePoint, Teams (including Teams Voice), and Microsoft 365 suite.
- Understanding of software integration architectures related to document management, project controls, Autodesk products, workflows, and dashboards.
- Basic awareness of Netskope client software and Silver Peak routers for troubleshooting tasks.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English, with the ability to document technical procedures clearly.
- Self-driven with excellent organizational skills and the capability to influence team members.
