Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic IT & Digitalization Manager to spearhead the advancement, deployment, operation, and ongoing enhancement of IT systems within our Business Unit. The chosen professional will be tasked with aligning IT strategy with business objectives, ensuring robust governance via the Business Unit IT Council, and delivering dependable, secure, and business-focused IT services within set resources, timelines, and budgets.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, execute, and regularly update the Business Unit's IT strategy and roadmap in harmony with business demands and regional IT directives.
  • Collaborate closely with the Business Unit Management Team and other managers to grasp business needs and recommend IT solutions that enhance performance and add value.
  • Lead, inspire, and grow the IT team by ensuring the appropriate organizational structure, staffing, skills development, and performance accountability.
  • Organize and lead meetings of the Business Unit IT Council to guarantee effective governance, clear communication, and sound decision-making.
  • Maintain and cultivate strong partnerships with Scania IT, regional IT leaders, vendors, dealers, clients, and critical internal departments like services, sales, and parts.
  • Oversee IT and information security measures, disaster recovery plans, backup routines, audits, and proactive risk management.
  • Manage the Business Unit's IT financial plan including forecasting, budgeting, analyzing variances, implementing corrective steps, and managing vendor service agreements.
  • Champion innovation, digital transformation, and continuous process enhancement with a focus on documenting and disseminating best practices organization-wide.
  • Ensure all IT activities comply with Scania’s principles, standards, policies, operational safety standards, and IT governance frameworks.

Qualifications and Experience

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Informatics, Management Information Systems, or a related discipline is required.
  • A Master’s degree such as an MBA or Master's in Information Systems is preferred.
  • Seven to ten or more years of advancing IT or digital experience with a minimum of three to five years in leadership, management, or project management roles.
  • Proven track record managing dispersed, multi-regional teams, enterprise-wide transformations, or complex business technology initiatives.
  • Preferred certifications include PMP, PRINCE2, Agile/Scrum Master, SAFe, ITIL 4, TOGAF, cloud credentials (AWS, Azure, GCP), and expertise in AI or data transformation.

Technical and Professional Expertise

  • Deep understanding of IT strategy, governance, operations, information security, risk, and supplier management.
  • Solid technical grasp of systems management, analytical tools, hardware, and software platforms.
  • Hands-on familiarity with ITIL frameworks and architectural best practices.
  • Experience with cloud technologies including hybrid or multi-cloud ecosystems and global networking.
  • Knowledge about emerging technologies, automation, artificial intelligence, and how to integrate these in current IT setups.
  • Familiarity with enterprise-level software such as ERP (SAP S/4HANA) or CRM (Salesforce) systems.
  • Awareness of cybersecurity principles, data governance, compliance standards, zero-trust security, and local data regulations.
  • Competence supporting data-driven decision making using analytical/reporting software including Power BI or Tableau.

  • Proven leadership ability in team building, mentoring, conflict resolution, and applying organizational policies.

  • Adept at managing change, promoting continuous learning, and encouraging digital adoption across departments.
  • Strong stakeholder engagement skills including collaboration with executives, regional heads, vendors, and cross-team groups.
  • Proficiency in handling IT budgets, vendor agreements, service quality, and cost efficiency.
  • Fluency in both oral and written English is essential.
