About the Role
In response to its ongoing growth, a leading main contractor is seeking a proactive and qualified Intermediate Quantity Surveyor to join their team based in Limerick. This role provides a diverse range of project exposure including residential, commercial, pharmaceutical, industrial, and educational sectors. Key Responsibilities
- Support the Associate Director - Surveying to ensure successful commercial management and delivery of all projects.
- Assist with procurement processes and management of specialist contracts (subcontracts and suppliers) through to final account resolution.
- Prepare precise monthly progress accounts and assist in the evaluation of interim and final payment valuations.
- Work closely with project teams to identify risks and control cost overruns effectively.
- Occasionally support the pre-construction team with tender preparations.
- Develop and sustain effective working relationships across project teams.
- Keep up to date with industry regulations and current trends.
- Monitor contra charges, notify subcontractors accordingly, and manage subcontractor re-measurement as well as interim and final payments.
- Prepare final accounts on project completions and participate in monthly cost monitoring and reporting meetings.
- Forecast project cash flows and issue monthly reports to accounts.
- Handle additional projects and ad-hoc requests from management as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Degree level qualification (Level 8) in Quantity Surveying is essential.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience in a similar role with a main contractor or subcontractor is mandatory.
- Experience in the residential construction sector is preferred.
- Proficient IT abilities including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); familiarity with Buildsoft, Cubit, or Bluebeam is advantageous though training will be provided.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to forge strong professional relationships.
- Strong presentation, numerical, analytical, and measurement skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Highly organized and capable of managing time and multiple priorities effectively under tight deadlines.
- A comprehensive understanding of construction site operations and industry standards.
- Ambitious, enthusiastic, and motivated for career progression.
- Able to perform under pressure, both independently and within a team environment.
- Holds a full, clean driving license.
