Implementation Specialist

About the Role

The Research Foundation for Mental Hygiene invites applications for a full-time Implementation Specialist position supporting the Center for Practice Innovations' new Crisis Engagement Skills Training Institute (CRESTNY). CRESTNY offers multidisciplinary and evidence-informed training and consultation to crisis service providers across New York State. The role focuses on disseminating, implementing, and sustaining essential competencies and best practices for behavioral health crisis intervention.

Responsibilities

• Lead or co-lead training initiatives to reinforce core competencies in behavioral health crisis services.
• Manage technical assistance activities such as Communities of Practice and quality improvement projects to enhance implementation efforts.
• Create culturally responsive and equity-focused training materials, including digital modules, webinars, and in-person sessions.
• Design implementation tools tailored for crisis service providers, program leaders, supervisors, and practitioners.
• Collaborate with CPI teams across data analysis, online assistance, content development, and continuing education.
• Work closely with New York State Office of Mental Health and other stakeholders to ensure alignment of goals.
• Occasionally travel within NYC and New York State to support engagement activities.

Qualifications and Experience

• Self-motivated team player passionate about person-centered, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive crisis services.
• Strong commitment to data-driven strategies for planning and improving behavioral health crisis delivery.
• Willingness to learn about reflective practice, healing justice, harm reduction, and equity-driven crisis interventions.
• Extensive experience with behavioral health systems, either professionally or personally.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills adaptable to diverse populations and organizational levels.
• Preferred knowledge of community services including support for unhoused populations, peer support, harm reduction, and carceral systems.
• Residency within New York State or NYC region is mandatory due to fully remote work requirements.

Additional Information

The CRESTNY Institute operates within the New York State Psychiatric Institute. The Implementation Specialist reports directly to the Director of CRESTNY and works closely with multiple units within CPI and the New York State Office of Mental Health. This position’s salary range is $84,806 to $93,896. Occasional travel in NYC and across New York State is expected to fulfill job duties.
