Overview
Aleto, Inc., an expert in federal property management and facility services, invites applications for the full-time position of Human Resources Manager. This remote role centers on directing everyday HR functions, delivering trusted guidance to leadership and staff, and ensuring regulatory adherence. This role supports the federal government agencies Aleto serves by improving workplace operations and human capital management.
Core Responsibilities
- Act as the main contact for employee relations including workplace issues, performance challenges, policy clarifications and conflict resolution.
- Provide advice to managers on handling performance, disciplinary measures, and terminations while ensuring compliance with company policies and legal standards.
- Offer coaching daily to management on employee engagement and communication.
- Assist executives during organizational changes, performance reviews, and professional development initiatives.
- Oversee HR processes spanning onboarding, performance management, and offboarding.
- Ensure compliance with employment regulations such as FLSA, FMLA, ADA, EEOC, OSHA, and government contracting requirements.
- Maintain and update HR policies and employee handbook consistent with evolving laws.
- Safeguard HR records, uphold data accuracy and employee confidentiality.
- Manage employee benefits administration including enrollment and leave management.
- Work with external vendors and PEO partners for benefits and payroll coordination.
- Lead recruitment operations by supervising senior recruiting personnel.
- Collaborate with leadership on staffing strategies, workforce planning and onboarding.
- Support compensation and job structuring efforts alongside leadership and external consultants.
- Drive special projects and organizational improvement efforts as assigned.
Leadership and Supervisory Duties
- Supervise employees involved in recruitment and security functions and mentor new HR team members.
- Manage third-party vendor work related to HR functions.
- Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with direct reports focused on operational tasks and professional growth.
- Participate actively in company-wide leadership development initiatives and culture-building activities.
- Monitor attendance and approve leave requests for the HR team.
- Conduct hiring interviews as needed and furnish operational updates to senior management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Minimum of 10 years progressive experience in Human Resources emphasizing employee relations.
- Proven ability to advise management and facilitate leadership decisions.
- Strong familiarity with federal and multi-state employment laws and regulations.
- Experience supporting remote and distributed teams.
- Capable of sound independent judgment, multitasking, and working autonomously in a fast-paced environment.
- Preferred certifications include SHRM-SCP or SPHR.
- Experience in federal contracting or government services sector is advantageous.
- Prior management experience within a PEO framework and in small-to-mid sized enterprises preferred.
Technical and Interpersonal Skills
- Proficient with HRIS systems and workforce analytics, as well as Microsoft Office suite.
- Deep knowledge of compliance related to EEOC, ADA, FMLA, FLSA, COBRA, OSHA, and USERRA.
- Strong skills in employee relations and conflict resolution.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities.
- Well-developed organizational and priority management competencies.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and demonstrate sound decision making.
- Influencing skills to guide management without direct authority.
Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range from $110,000 to $120,000 annually depending on experience.
- Bi-monthly pay schedule on the 10th and 24th of each month.
