Head Start Custodian

Position Overview

The Head Start Custodian role is based in Allen County at Fort Wayne, Indiana, dedicated to ensuring that both the interior and exterior spaces of the building remain in excellent condition. The position requires regular maintenance of playgrounds and other areas to guarantee safety and cleanliness.

Work Schedule and Salary

This is a part-time position offering 40 hours per week with a starting wage of $16.90 per hour.

Primary Duties

• Consistently preserve the cleanliness and upkeep of the building’s interior.
• Ensure playground and external areas are maintained and kept clean at all times.
• Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks across the primary site and additional Head Start locations as required.

Qualifications and Skills

• Completion of a High School diploma or an equivalent certification.
• Preference given to candidates with at least two years of experience in custodial or building maintenance roles.
• The ability to work independently, showing motivation, attention to detail, organizational skills, cooperation, productivity, reliability, adaptability, and dependability.
• Commitment to obtaining First Aid and CPR certifications within the first 12 months of employment.
• When operating a vehicle for job purposes, a valid Indiana driver's license is required alongside auto insurance coverage with minimum liability limits of $100,000/$300,000.
