Overview

Royal York Property Management, a leading Canadian company overseeing thousands of residential rental units across Ontario, seeks reliable and skilled Handyworkers to expand their maintenance team. This role requires traveling to various rental properties to undertake maintenance, repairs, inspections, and installations independently, while utilizing a mobile work application for task management.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine residential maintenance and repair tasks including doors, locks, faucets, toilets, lighting, blinds, shelving, hardware, and smoke detectors.
• Conduct property inspections and preventative maintenance activities.
• Install and remove lockboxes as required.
• Replace HVAC filters and manage other scheduled maintenance duties.
• Assemble and install household items when necessary.
• Capture clear photographic evidence and complete digital inspection reports.
• Report any maintenance issues and recommend further necessary repairs.
• Utilize a mobile app to receive assignments, navigate via GPS, upload photos, and update job status.
• Travel between job sites using a personal vehicle.

Mandatory Qualifications

• Minimum of two years paid experience in handyman, property maintenance, construction, renovation, or relevant fields.
• Proven ability to independently handle common residential repair and maintenance work.
• Ownership of a reliable personal vehicle and necessary tools and equipment for maintenance tasks.
• Possession of a suitable smartphone capable of GPS navigation, app usage, photography, and digital reporting.
• Basic English communication skills.
• Dependable and punctual with comfort working with GPS-based scheduling.
• Strong problem-solving aptitude with keen attention to detail.

Preferred Experience

• Prior experience in residential property maintenance.
• Experience in inspection completion and detailed repair documentation.
• General knowledge of household maintenance and repair practices.
• Skill to identify potential maintenance problems proactively.
