About The Role
Reporting to the DOE/CE/Duty Engineer (Common Area) or their delegate, the General Technician is pivotal in ensuring the smooth operation of the hotel's equipment following established standards. This role focuses on maintaining high equipment efficiency and elevating guest satisfaction.
Candidate Profile
- English communication skills sufficient for interacting with guests, colleagues, and management both verbally and in writing.
- At least 2 years of relevant experience working in hotel environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Carry out regular preventative maintenance as well as address any curative maintenance needs.
- Manage the ordering and tracking of essential consumables such as fuels, lubricants, and repair components.
- Keep plant rooms clean and orderly.
- Possess broad technical knowledge allowing for resolution of minor issues across various department areas.
- Respond to repair and maintenance requests throughout hotel premises, including newer additions or extended properties.
- Support the hotel’s preventative maintenance and repair logging systems.
- Guide coworkers on correct equipment operation, safety measures, and cleaning guidelines.
- Participate in staff meetings focused on maintenance practices and procedures.
- Update supervisors on repair progress, costs incurred, and recommendations regarding equipment replacement.
- Maintain detailed daily service records including materials costs and labor hours.
- Repair and upkeep guest room and common area facilities, lighting, furniture, and equipment.
- Prioritize tasks based on guest needs and managerial direction.
- Maintain appropriate inventory levels for spare parts.
- Implement scheduled maintenance within designated timeframes.
- Document inspections and maintenance activities using computerized systems.
- Organize and preserve maintenance files and resources for future use.
- Provide daily reports summarizing completed work.
- Engage in environmentally sustainable and recycling initiatives.
- Adhere strictly to occupational health and safety (OH&S) policies and procedures, ensuring safe work practices at all times.
- Recognize and respond promptly to hazardous conditions, notifying relevant supervisors.
- Maintain records of security incidents and accidents according to hotel protocols.
- Ensure maintenance activities comply with IHG brand standards and relevant local regulations.
