Role Summary

The General Labourer will handle daily on-site tasks needed to complete work safely, efficiently, and on schedule while keeping the work area clean and organized.

Work Location and Schedule

This is a permanent, full-time onsite position based in West Edmonton yard, Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

Responsibilities

• Follow all company safety policies and procedures at all times.
• Comply with any site-specific health, safety, and operational requirements.
• Take part in safety meetings such as daily tailgate talks and last-minute risk assessments.
• Work effectively with teammates to support daily operations.
• Sort ferrous materials and identify different types of metals.
• Be open to training in additional positions as needed.
• Help manage traffic flow and direct materials to the correct area.
• Keep the site clean and orderly through general housekeeping duties.
• Inform the supervisor or repair shop when work or maintenance is needed.
• Carry out other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Previous general labour or farm experience is helpful, though not mandatory.
• Experience with metals is an advantage, but training will be provided.
• Ability to understand and follow workplace health and safety rules, including hazard assessment procedures for the assigned site.
• Capacity to complete safety-related paperwork accurately and promptly.
• Physical ability to lift, shovel, move containers, and handle other heavy materials.
• Strong work ethic and willingness to work through challenging weather conditions.
• Ability to adjust to weather-related or seasonal interruptions in the schedule.
• Must be fit for work every day.
