About the Role
We are engaging a Game Developer with a focus on tools and modding engineering to create highly efficient, real-time applications. This position involves working beyond gameplay mechanics, emphasizing graphics system design, rendering pipelines, and low-level optimization utilizing APIs such as DirectX (DX11/12), Vulkan, OpenGL, or comparable technologies in a remote setup.
Primary Responsibilities
- Architect and implement game systems and engine-level functionalities primarily using C++ and gaming engines.
- Develop and maintain tools specific to game modding and support.
- Design and enhance rendering pipelines, shaders, and systems for real-time graphics rendering.
- Optimize performance across CPU, GPU, memory management, and rendering tasks.
- Create and extend development tools, engine pipelines, and systems that bolster the production process.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams comprising designers, artists, and engineers to achieve quality in output.
- Investigate and resolve complex issues related to rendering performance and compatibility across platforms.
- Maintain high standards in coding by producing clean, efficient, and well-documented source code.
- Engage in code reviews and contribute thoughtfully to technical strategies and decisions.
Required Qualifications
- Between three to six years' practical experience in game development or real-time graphics programming.
- Proficient knowledge of C++ programming language.
- Practical experience with at least one graphics API such as DirectX (DX11/12), Vulkan, OpenGL, or Metal.
- Comprehensive understanding of rendering pipelines mechanisms.
- Deep knowledge of shader programming, including HLSL and GLSL.
- Strong foundation in 3D mathematics and real-time graphics theories.
- Experience working with Unreal Engine or similar game engines.
- Abilities in optimizing performance across CPU, GPU, memory, and multithreaded environments.
- Exceptional debugging skills and analytical problem-solving capabilities.
- Comfortable working autonomously within a fully remote and geographically distributed team.
Preferred Experience
- Experience customizing game engines or working on foundational systems development.
- Familiarity with popular profiling tools such as RenderDoc, PIX, Nsight, etc.
- Background working on projects that require cross-platform support or operate in constrained performance environments.
- Knowledge of developing tools, pipelines, or editor extensions.
- Experience with multiplayer or large-scale system architectures.
