Freight Forwarder

About the Role

We are seeking a detail-oriented Freight Forwarder to join DSV, a worldwide leader in logistics and transport. Based in Blanchardstown, Fingal, Ireland, this full-time position operates Monday to Friday from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM, working 37.5 hours weekly. You will play a critical role in managing air freight shipments from origin to destination, maintaining customer satisfaction, and ensuring operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage documentation and operational workflows using internal systems to meet customer delivery deadlines.
• Communicate actively with customers to understand and satisfy their shipping requirements.
• Ensure strict compliance with all regulatory and legislative obligations.
• Maintain and update customer profiles and standard operating procedures.
• Resolve issues promptly and escalate complex matters when needed.
• Coordinate shipments through subcontractors and partners for seamless transportation.
• Issue invoices to customers and overseas offices according to agreed pricing structures.
• Keep track of shipment profitability and maintain financial awareness.
• Perform administrative duties in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Candidate Profile

• Experience in air freight operations along with an in-depth knowledge of the air freight market.
• Strong negotiation skills with airlines, suppliers, and international offices.
• Excellent organizational, planning, and problem-solving abilities.
• Outstanding communication skills, especially in phone interactions with customers.
• Meticulous attention to detail and ability to effectively prioritize tasks under pressure.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, coupled with a customer service and administrative mindset.
• Strong commercial acumen with an understanding of costs and profitability.
