We seek a natural investigator to join our fraud operations team. You will assess suspected fraud cases and contribute to enhancing our detection and prevention strategies. Digital banking inevitably attracts fraud attempts and malicious activity, so our capacity to track, record, and combat fraud at scale is essential to protect customers. While we develop advanced machine learning tools to analyze large datasets and aid decision-making in real time, your expert judgment is crucial for timely and accurate intervention. Our mission is to shield customers and Digibank from fraud while maintaining seamless and user-friendly technology and processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor unauthorized transactions impacting customer financial accounts.
• Report suspicious account activity and unusual transactions that pose risks to Digibank and its clients.
• Create clear, concise, and objective fraud reports using incident data, trends, and mitigation plans.
• Work closely with analysts, operations specialists, data scientists, and engineers to enhance fraud prevention tools and procedures.
• Actively detect and analyze suspicious patterns, recommending improvements to policies, procedures, and systems.
• Foresee risk scenarios, design fraud prevention and detection protocols, and advocate necessary control adjustments, communicating action plans as needed.
• Ensure full implementation of all fraud detection and prevention initiatives.
• Continuously improve operational processes to boost efficiency and effectiveness in fraud operations.
• Stay informed on industry trends and regulatory updates to identify emerging requirements and opportunities.
• Investigate fraud and customer behavior to inform machine learning models, rules, and overall fraud strategies.
• Identify financial crime trends through data analysis, assess fraud indicators and impacts, and recommend mitigations.

Qualifications and Requirements

• Aspiring to be a fraud expert, with at least 2 years hands-on experience managing fraud risks and projects in government, banking, or fintech sectors.
• Good understanding of cyber risk, common fraud schemes, and evolving financial crime trends.
• Familiarity with internet technologies and protocols and how they may be exploited.
• Experience designing automated fraud processes incorporating machine learning and AI solutions.
• Strong execution capability with adaptability to change.
• Ability to analyze data using coding skills in SQL and Python to detect patterns and clarify complex concepts into structured processes.
• Effective communication skills, with commercial insight, strategic thinking, and a solution-driven approach to minimize losses and reputational harm.
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity and uncertainty.
• Demonstrates integrity, confidentiality, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model for peers.
