Flooring Installer

Overview

Flooring Xtra Invercargill and Winton are seeking experienced flooring installers to join one of the largest installation teams in Southland. This role involves primarily residential jobs installing a variety of flooring materials such as vinyl, vinyl planks, textured loop carpets, cut pile carpets, as well as commercial work including commercial floor and wall vinyl and carpet tiles.

Role Expectations

The ideal candidate will have prior flooring installation experience, be proactive, physically fit, detail-oriented, and a cooperative team member. Integrity, professionalism, and respect for customers and their homes are essential qualities.

Core Duties

• Install a range of flooring products to industry and manufacturer standards, including textured carpet, engineered timber, laminate, LVT, and vinyl.
• Perform thermal welding for domestic and commercial vinyl applications.
• Assist in surface preparation, including removal of baseboards and ensuring substrates are ready for covering.
• Measure, cut, and install underlay materials, bars, nosings, and edge trims.
• Cut flooring around fixtures and fit coverings securely in doorways.
• Install wall, counter, and bench coverings.
• Handle removal, uplift, and disposal of existing flooring and underlay with smooth edges.
• Inspect and repair existing floor substrates prior to installation to ensure quality finish.

Employment Details

This position is full-time and based onsite in Winton, Southland, New Zealand.
