About the Role
Join a reputable pharmaceutical company with a notable presence in Tasmania as a Field Officer specializing in agricultural engagement. This role is centered on fostering strong relationships with growers, providing agronomic expertise, and overseeing field operations to optimize crop production in Southern Tasmania.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain trusted connections with growers and the broader farming community.
- Deliver agronomic advice and support throughout all phases of the crop lifecycle.
- Organize and supervise contractors for land preparation, sowing, spraying, and harvesting tasks.
- Manage harvesting schedules ensuring timely delivery of crops.
- Identify and recruit new growers to meet production objectives.
- Keep detailed and accurate records of crop status and operational activities.
- Monitor contractor performance ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Collaborate with internal teams and agricultural experts to meet production goals.
Candidate Requirements
- Practical experience in agriculture, farming, agronomy, or a related sector is essential.
- Demonstrated strong communication and relationship-building abilities.
- Capability to influence and engage effectively with farming enterprises.
- Excellent organization and planning skills.
- Experience managing multiple stakeholders, including contractors and seasonal operations.
- Adaptable, solution-oriented mindset accompanied by professionalism and integrity.
- Willingness to undertake frequent travel throughout regional Tasmania.
- Genuine respect for rural communities and agricultural lifestyles.
- Possession of an agricultural degree or diploma is highly preferred.
