Role Overview
The Facilities, Safety & Admin Engineer will be based in Kampala, working full-time on-site to maintain safe, efficient, and well-functioning facilities supporting the company’s logistics services. The position involves overseeing routine building maintenance, handling repairs, managing utilities and workplace infrastructure, and assisting with minor construction and fit-out projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise daily facility maintenance and coordinate repair activities to ensure operational continuity.
- Monitor utilities and infrastructure to guarantee safe and optimal facility conditions.
- Assist in minor construction and fit-out projects to improve workplace environments.
- Implement and track safety policies and procedures, conducting inspections and risk assessments.
- Organize safety drills and facilitate staff training on health, safety, and emergency response protocols.
- Manage administrative tasks including documentation, record keeping, office service coordination, and supply management.
- Support regulatory compliance efforts by aligning operations with local safety standards and company policies.
- Collaborate with multiple teams to address operational facility needs in a dynamic logistics environment.
Candidate Qualifications
- Experience and expertise in Facility Management for maintenance oversight and service provider coordination.
- Ability to deliver training related to safety awareness and operational procedures.
- Proficient administrative skills for documentation and office service management.
- Competence in supporting construction-related projects such as minor works and office fit-outs.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for effective communication and reporting.
- Relevant academic credentials in engineering, facilities management, occupational health and safety, or a related discipline.
- Familiarity with Uganda's local safety laws, building regulations, and compliance requirements.
- Strong organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities with a collaborative on-site work approach.
