Role Overview

The Engineering and Maintenance Manager is responsible for overseeing the optimal functioning of all property facilities, equipment, and systems. This role demands leadership of the engineering team, coordination of maintenance workflows, and ensuring that mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and other critical systems are maintained safely and efficiently to enhance guest satisfaction and operational effectiveness.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor the engineering team to uphold high-performance standards through training and guidance.
• Design and execute comprehensive maintenance schedules, including preventive programs for all hotel systems and equipment.
• Manage the operation and upkeep of HVAC, electrical, mechanical, plumbing, fire safety, and building management systems.
• Ensure building infrastructure safety and quality, encompassing structural integrity, HVAC, elevators, and water systems.
• Implement systems for prompt and efficient completion of maintenance requests to minimize guest disruption.
• Collaborate with various departments to guarantee proper operation of equipment in kitchens, guest rooms, conference areas, and public spaces.
• Maintain stringent compliance with safety and environmental standards, prioritizing operational safety and hygiene.
• Oversee energy and sustainability initiatives, identifying opportunities to conserve energy and reduce costs.
• Regularly conduct fire and safety drills and ensure all team members are trained in emergency protocols.
• Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and safety documentation.
• Manage the engineering budget effectively, balancing cost control with high service and equipment standards.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized maintenance and repairs.
• Ensure maintenance tools and equipment are well-maintained and stored following health and safety regulations.
• Address guest complaints and maintenance issues swiftly to maintain satisfaction.
• Monitor inventory for engineering consumables and procure materials as needed.
• Maintain all areas to align with company values and brand standards.
• Conduct regular inspections of property equipment and promptly report and resolve issues.
• Foster collaborative relationships across departments to support seamless property operations.
• Perform additional duties as necessary to ensure smooth facility management.
