Drupal Business Analyst

Role Overview

Enterprise Solutions Inc. is looking for a seasoned Drupal Business Analyst with extensive experience (8+ years overall, including at least 5 years with Drupal CMS and digital experience platforms) to join their remote team based in Canada. The candidate will serve as a conduit between business needs and technical execution, spearheading enterprise digital experience projects that leverage Drupal.

Key Responsibilities

• Engage with business stakeholders to comprehend objectives around digital strategy and content management.
• Lead workshops, conduct interviews, and hold discovery sessions to collect detailed functional and non-functional requirements.
• Evaluate current business processes and suggest enhancements to improve digital user engagement and operational workflows.
• Develop comprehensive documents such as BRDs, FRDs, user stories, use cases, process diagrams, and acceptance criteria.
• Convert business needs into clear functional specifications for Drupal development teams.
• Guide prioritization and upkeep of requirement backlogs alongside Product Owners and other stakeholders.
• Analyze and record Drupal content architectures, including content models, taxonomies, workflows, permissions, and publishing standards.
• Define content framework, governance policies, and metadata methodologies.
• Support implementation, upgrades, and modernization efforts for Drupal versions 9, 10, and 11.
• Partner with technical architects to design scalable and maintainable Drupal solutions aligned with business aims.
• Verify solution designs for alignment with business requirements and Drupal best practices.
• Contribute to content migration strategies, information architecture, and broader digital transformation initiatives.
• Serve as the interface among business users, UX teams, architects, developers, QA, and project managers.
• Collaborate on integration designs connecting Drupal with enterprise systems through APIs and modern integration patterns.
• Participate in solution reviews ensuring compliance with business, security, governance, and compliance standards.
• Assist in defining release scopes, implementation schedules, and change management protocols.
• Engage actively in Agile ceremonies: sprint planning, backlog grooming, daily stand-ups, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
• Work closely with Scrum Masters and Product Owners to refine user stories and prepare for development cycles.
• Support User Acceptance Testing by validating business functionalities and aiding defect resolution.
• Maintain excellent communication with business leaders and technical teams, facilitating workshops, presentations, and walkthroughs.
• Report project workflows including status, risks, dependencies, and tactical recommendations.
• Advise on Drupal features, content management system best practices, and digital experience strategies.

Qualifications and Skills

• Eight or more years in Business Analysis, Digital Consulting, Solution Architecture, or Enterprise Architecture roles.
• At least five years of direct experience with Drupal CMS platforms.
• Strong familiarity with Drupal's architecture encompassing content types, taxonomy, workflows, permissions, and governance practices.
• Proven track record in enterprise CMS or Digital Experience Platform deployments.
• Extensive experience in gathering business requirements, analyzing processes, drafting functional documentation, and developing use cases.
• Involvement in CMS modernization, migrations, and supporting digital transformation projects.
• Adept in Agile and Scrum methodologies.
• Exceptional communication, stakeholder engagement, and facilitation capabilities.
• Ability to effectively collaborate between business units and technical teams.

Preferred Expertise

• Hands-on experience with Drupal versions 9, 10, or 11 and understanding of headless Drupal architectures.
• Knowledge of REST APIs, GraphQL, and enterprise integration patterns.
• Exposure to SEO best practices, digital marketing tools, analytics, and personalization techniques.
• Familiarity with Acquia, Adobe Experience Manager, Sitecore, or similar enterprise CMS platforms.
• Experience in cloud environments such as Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
• Insight into UX/CX strategies, customer journey mapping, accessibility, and responsive design principles.
• Awareness of enterprise governance, content lifecycle management, and digital accessibility standards.

• Acquia Certified Drupal Developer or Site Builder

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field is required.
