Deli Associate

Position Summary

Joining Walmart Canada as a Deli Associate offers an excellent opportunity to enhance your retail and customer service skills. The role involves delivering outstanding customer care by upholding Walmart's core beliefs and values, maintaining and organizing the deli section, and supporting stocking and sales activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Maintain and zone the deli department to ensure proper organization.
• Rotate stock regularly and check for expired items to ensure freshness.
• Ensure all products are correctly priced and clearly labeled.
• Follow strict guidelines for cold chain management, including thermometer calibration, temperature logging, food safety, product rotation, and adherence to sell-by and expiration dates.
• Take customer orders and prepare deli products such as slicing meats, cheese, and fried chicken, offering assistance as needed.
• Assist front-end staff with price verifications.
• Prepare deli food orders and handle equipment such as slicers, stackers, rotisserie ovens, and deep fryers; also prepare salads and side dishes for display and special customer orders.
• Keep the deli area clean, organized, and free from debris, liquids, or foreign items to maintain a safe environment.

Compensation

The hourly minimum wage for this position begins at 18.30 CAD.

Minimum Qualifications

• Applicants must be at least 16 years of age.
