About UGL and the Role
UGL is Australia's forefront Defence services provider and major contractor managing the Defence Fuel Network. We have built a strong reputation in asset management, maintenance, and operations critical to maintaining Australia's national security. As our long-term contracts expand, we are looking to bring on multiple Defence Fuel Operators based primarily in RAAF Townsville, Queensland.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver reliable and compliant support across the Defence Fuel Network installations in Queensland, mostly stationed at RAAF Townsville.
- Operate and manage aviation and ground fuel installations safely and according to regulations.
- Monitor fuel quality, quantity, and compliance through systematic processes and testing.
- Execute technical quality control measures including sample testing to preserve fuel integrity.
- Report directly to the Operations Advisor, performing various operational and functional duties within the fuel installation environment.
Requirements and Qualifications
- A dedicated focus on safety as a fundamental principle of all work activities.
- Strong personal qualities such as initiative, teamwork, and a commitment to supporting Australia's Defence Force.
- Hold a valid driver's license; heavy vehicle licenses (HR or HC) are advantageous but not mandatory at entry.
- Ability to acquire necessary Defence Security Clearance.
- Reside in Townsville or be willing to relocate to be near RAAF Townsville base.
- Previous experience in fuel operations or similarly high-risk hazardous industries is beneficial but not essential due to provided comprehensive training programs.
