Data Strategy & Control Lead

Job Overview

The Data Strategy & Control Lead will oversee the creation, implementation, and supervision of the enterprise-wide data strategy and governance controls at Riyad Bank. This role ensures that the data governance aligns with business objectives, complies with regulatory obligations, and follows established data management standards. The position aims to foster continuous enhancement of data governance capacities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in formulating and executing data strategy, policy, procedure, and control frameworks for all data sources.
• Manage daily data operations, confirming adherence to designed work processes and compliance with approved policies and procedures.
• Lead the deployment and ongoing improvement of the bank's Enterprise Data Strategy.
• Develop and oversee data governance controls, standards, policies, and procedures spanning the organization.
• Track strategic data initiative progress, reporting on outcomes in alignment with roadmaps and KPIs.
• Engage with business and IT stakeholders to ensure data initiatives support business priorities.
• Set up governance structures to guarantee conformity with internal policies and external regulatory demands related to data.
• Evaluate data governance maturity levels and pinpoint areas for ongoing advancement.
• Prepare reports, dashboards, and other materials to aid enterprise-wide governance committees and forums.
• Coordinate the adoption of data-related regulatory and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with data quality, master data, metadata, data privacy, and business intelligence teams to maintain consistent governance efforts.
• Lead assigned strategic projects and undertake related responsibilities as required.
• Support change management by identifying opportunities to improve systems, processes, and practices with consideration to global best practices, business process enhancement, cost saving, and productivity gains.
• Perform additional related tasks as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Management Systems, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related discipline.
• 6 to 8 years of pertinent experience in data management.
• Proficiency in English at an advanced level.
