Data Scientist 1

Overview

We are looking for a full-time Data Scientist 1 to join our team in Louisville, CO. This position involves handling complex datasets, building machine learning models, and working with cross-functional teams to generate meaningful insights and AI-based products. The role requires applying machine learning, statistical techniques, and data engineering methods to address complex business challenges.

Key Responsibilities

• Aggregate, clean, and preprocess large volumes of data from diverse sources
• Conduct exploratory data analysis to detect trends, patterns, and outliers
• Create and deploy predictive models using machine learning and statistical approaches
• Work closely with multiple teams to convert data findings into actionable business recommendations
• Develop and maintain annotation, training, and evaluation workflows to automate and enhance processes
• Test and assess new data science tools, models, and algorithms
• Collaborate on deploying models into production environments and track their effectiveness
• Design tools and workflows to monitor model accuracy and data integrity
• Present data visualizations to stakeholders using fundamental graphic technologies
• Identify opportunities to use internal and external datasets to drive business improvements
• Contribute to building customized machine learning models and algorithms for different datasets
• Utilize predictive analytics to improve user engagement, revenue, and other business objectives
• Assist in defining project requirements and establishing business goals informed by data analysis
• Learn from senior team members and adapt new methodologies
• Participate in code and project peer reviews providing constructive feedback
• Show enthusiasm for learning and mastering new technologies and data science techniques
• Ensure adherence to data quality standards, governance policies, and compliance with privacy and AI regulations

Basic Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or similar technical discipline, or comparable experience
• Strong academic record with a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Experience with SQL, Python, or R programming languages
• Familiarity with machine learning libraries such as Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, or PyTorch
• Understanding of descriptive and inferential statistics
• Proficiency in data analysis techniques and tools
• Effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
• Team player with a positive and collaborative attitude
• Proven problem-solving capabilities with track record of overcoming complex challenges
• Well-organized and produces high-quality work documentation

Desired Qualifications

• Experience working with relational database management systems
• Knowledge of advanced topics like time series analysis, natural language processing, deep and reinforcement learning
• Hands-on skills in MLOps, including model deployment and continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines
• Familiarity with distributed computing platforms such as Apache Spark or Dask and NoSQL databases
• Understanding of A/B experimentation and causal inference techniques
• Experience handling unstructured data formats like text, images, or audio
• Competence with data visualization libraries including Matplotlib and Seaborn
