Overview
Join SBI International in Singapore as a Data Engineer where you will be integral in designing, developing, and refining scalable data infrastructure and pipelines to support organizational data needs effectively.
Core Responsibilities
- Create and maintain ETL processes to facilitate smooth data integration, transformation, and validation tasks.
- Work closely with various stakeholders to understand their requirements and convert them into technical specifications.
- Adopt and implement best practices in ETL development covering error handling, logging, and auditing mechanisms.
- Enhance and optimize ETL workflows to ensure they are performant and scalable.
- Develop and manage large-scale data pipelines utilizing cloud platforms such as Snowflake or Databricks.
- Conduct thorough unit and integration testing to ensure reliability and stability of data pipelines.
- Collaborate with data architects, database developers, and business analysts to deliver robust, scalable solutions.
- Document ETL workflows, data mappings, and compile detailed data dictionaries.
- Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced developers.
- Keep abreast of industry trends and integrate relevant best practices into data engineering initiatives.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or an equivalent qualification/experience.
- Minimum of 4 years’ experience in a Data Engineering role or ETL development.
- Strong command of SQL and procedural SQL (PL/SQL).
- Hands-on experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake and Databricks or equivalents.
- Profound understanding of data modeling, database architecture, and principles of data warehousing.
- Experience working with cloud ecosystems like Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform.
- Proficient in enterprise ETL tools including Informatica PowerCenter or IICS.
- Detail-oriented with problem-solving skills and an inquisitive mindset.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication abilities to collaborate across teams.
- Fluent in English; additional language skills in French, Vietnamese, Thai, Bahasa, or Chinese are advantageous.
