Data Analyst - Public Sector

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to comprehend business objectives and convert them into analytical needs and KPIs.
• Conduct comprehensive analyses across diverse areas such as customer service, finance, retail, ecommerce, marketing, and operations.
• Create and maintain semantic data models, reusable datasets, and Power BI reports.
• Work closely with Data Engineers to establish data transformation logic, business rules, and ensure data quality compliance.
• Perform data validation and investigate discrepancies to maintain report accuracy.
• Develop dashboards, insight reports, and visualizations to facilitate evidence-based decisions.
• Advocate for data quality, governance, and best analytical practices within the organisation.
• Effectively present complex data findings to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Contribute to building a contemporary self-service analytics environment.

Candidate Profile

• Extensive experience in data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics within complex organisations.
• Proficiency in Power BI, including expertise with DAX, Power Query, and data modelling.
• Hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric or other advanced cloud analytics platforms.
• Strong SQL capabilities and experience handling data from multiple business systems.
• Competency in transforming business questions into reliable analytical solutions.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to engage effectively with stakeholders.
• Solid knowledge of data governance, data quality assurance, and dimensional modelling principles.
