Overview
We are seeking a knowledgeable Customs Specialist for our client, a Cork-based engineering distribution firm. This role requires a deep understanding of import and export compliance, tariffs, and duties, ensuring the organization meets all Irish and European Union regulations.
Key Responsibilities
The successful candidate will be accountable for adherence to Irish and EU customs laws, guaranteeing accurate calculation of tariffs and duties to support cost competitiveness. This position suits someone experienced in managing international tariff calculations, preparing import documentation, and managing all necessary support schedules.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Two to three years of proven experience in customs clearance within Ireland.
- Comprehensive and confident knowledge of Irish revenue customs guidelines.
- Understanding of bonded warehouse processes, including related documentation and procedures.
- Familiarity with customs import/export operations, CBAM framework, tariff classifications, and Incoterms.
- Knowledge of VAT, duties, and Eur1 certification requirements.
- Candidate must reside in Cork and be legally eligible to work in Ireland as this is an on-site position.
