Custodian

Job Overview

The Custodian role entails ensuring the cleanliness and sanitation across all designated spaces. This includes adhering to assigned janitorial duties and maintaining a tidy work environment. The individual must follow safety protocols and collaborate effectively with team members.

Key Duties and Responsibilities

• Carry out janitorial tasks as scheduled daily
• Manage hazardous waste handling, including collecting, sorting, labeling, packaging, and shipping special and hazardous materials
• Use motorized cleaning machinery proficiently
• Keep assigned areas orderly and well-maintained
• Report any incidents or dangerous conditions to supervisors promptly
• Comply with company safety policies and promote risk prevention
• Work as part of a team and fill in during staff shortages if needed
• Support shift leads by addressing punch-list items
• Appropriately use personal protective equipment
• Maintain a professional appearance and demeanor while interacting respectfully with colleagues, managers, and customers

Required Qualifications and Skills

• No formal education required; preference given to candidates with 3-6 months of related training or experience, or equivalent combination
• Valid driver's license may be necessary
• Completion of safety and task training certifications required; forklift certification may be required
• Bilingualism is advantageous
• Ability to comprehend and apply instructions, procedures, and manuals
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Knowledge of cleaning techniques, equipment maintenance, and safe handling of cleaning chemicals

Physical and Work Environment Considerations

• Must be able to lift or move items weighing up to 35 pounds
• Physical tasks include frequent sitting, talking, and listening

Work Schedule and Compensation

• Monday and Tuesday: 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• Wednesday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM
• Thursday and Friday: Off
• Saturday and Sunday: 9:00 AM – 5:30 PM

Hourly wage ranges from $19 to $20.
