Creative Executive - Documentary Series

Job Overview

Amazon Studios is seeking an experienced Creative Executive to advance its nonfiction documentary programming initiative for Prime Video in the United States. The successful candidate will contribute to the development and production of audience-focused documentary projects from concept through completion, working closely with content creators and internal teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Exercising astute creative and business judgment in evaluating and greenlighting documentary ideas.
• Maintaining strong relationships with filmmakers, producers, directors, artist representatives, and the broader creative community.
• Engaging in all stages of production, including budgeting, managing field production challenges, and final delivery processes.
• Supervising post-production and editing efforts to ensure the final product aligns with Amazon’s high standards of storytelling and quality.
• Collaborating with senior executives to curate and shape a diverse and audience-focused content slate, including sensitive and high-profile projects.
• Partnering with cross-functional teams such as Marketing, Publicity, Research, Digital, Social Media, Business Affairs, Legal, and Programming to maximize project impact upon release.

Qualifications

• Minimum of nine years’ experience as a creative executive with extensive involvement in development and production of nonfiction or unscripted content.
• Proven track record collaborating with departments including casting, research, PR, and legal affairs to oversee all creative facets of projects.
• Experience in guiding projects from initial concept through development, production, and post-production phases.
• Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and strategic initiatives across multiple projects and stakeholders.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly in engaging with executive leadership and creative partners.
• Preferred: Background in premium television networks or leading production companies, with demonstrated management of film and television development/production.

Compensation and Benefits

The annual salary for this role ranges from $183,700 to $248,500 USD, supplemented by sign-on bonuses and restricted stock units (RSUs).
