About the Role

The Athlete Learning & Development Coordinator at the USOPC supports the execution and delivery of learning and development initiatives focused on engaging Team USA athletes. This role ensures athletes have access to educational resources and development pathways to foster excellence and well-being during and beyond their sporting careers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with planning, coordinating, and executing learning programs and campaigns designed to engage Team USA athletes beyond their athletic performance.
  • Help develop and deliver engaging learning experiences in various formats including in-person, virtual, and self-directed sessions by preparing materials and coordinating facilitators.
  • Manage projects within the learning and development portfolio to meet deadlines, deliverables, and communication goals.
  • Track and maintain program data, participation statistics, and feedback to support evaluations and ongoing improvements.
  • Serve as a primary contact for athlete participants, offering guidance, answering inquiries, and connecting them with resources.
  • Support onboarding and offboarding educational programs through logistical coordination, resource preparation, and communication management.
  • Collaborate with partners to promote athlete engagement via content updates, communications drafting, and promoting learning opportunities.
  • Maintain the Learning Management System, ensuring course uploads, learner tracking, reporting, and troubleshooting are handled efficiently.
  • Coordinate logistics for major events like the Team USA Athlete Summit, including registration, scheduling, materials preparation, and onsite assistance.
  • Assist with the design and organization of education programs before the Games, managing content, schedules, and participants.
  • Monitor budgets related to programs, tracking expenses, and ensuring compliance with approved financial plans.
  • Contribute to effective team operations by maintaining organized documentation and systems supporting program delivery.
  • Promote a positive and collaborative team environment through clear communication, accountability, and excellent service to Team USA athletes.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience; preferred fields include education, training, business, human resources, or communications.
  • Relevant certifications such as instructional design, learning & development, or ATD credentials are advantageous.
  • 1 to 3 years of experience in learning and development, program coordination, education, or similar fields.
  • Experience managing program/event logistics and administrative tasks.
  • Familiarity with Learning Management Systems (LMS) or e-learning tools is preferred.
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced collaborative environments.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and communication skills.
  • Attention to detail and ability to handle diverse stakeholder collaboration effectively.
  • Basic understanding of instructional design and adult learning principles preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other workplace software; experience with LMS platforms a bonus.
  • Flexible, adaptable, proactive, and solution-focused work approach.
  • Respect and appreciation for sport and Olympic/Paralympic ideals.

Work Conditions and Additional Information

  • Use of standard office equipment.
  • May require occasional non-traditional working hours including nights, weekends, and holidays.
  • Potential domestic and international travel.
  • Position requires regular attendance.
  • The role is full-time, non-exempt, temporary, working approximately 40 hours per week.
  • Hourly pay range is $26 to $27 per hour.
  • Eligible for USOPC benefits.
