Position Overview

The Controller is a pivotal role responsible for overseeing accounting, financial reporting, and compliance controls within Ride Group. This position involves leading the accounting team to adhere to critical deadlines and spearhead process enhancements. The ideal candidate should possess in-depth knowledge of GAAP accounting and have experience handling complex accounting matters. A dynamic, collaborative team player is highly sought after.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure that GAAP-compliant accounting policies and procedures are appropriately established and consistently executed for all business transaction accounting and reporting. Ability to prepare accounting memos in coordination with external consultants.
• Manage and improve company accounting systems and chart of accounts; lead monthly and annual closings; conduct monthly account analyses with prompt resolution of outstanding issues. Lead consolidation activities of financial statements and prepare accompanying footnotes.
• Collaborate with external auditors by supplying requested financial data and explanations, coordinating cross-functional teams to address audit concerns and ensure timely completion.
• Partner with accounting firms on tax returns, providing financial reconciliations and explanations necessary for completion; perform deferred tax accounting with external assistance.
• Engage in financial reviews with operations teams and work alongside financial planning and analysis divisions on budgeting and other related functions.
• Lead company-wide internal controls efforts ensuring critical business processes are safeguarded; conduct self-audits company-wide to foster sound business practices.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum 15 years experience as an accounting manager or controller, preferably within a manufacturing setting.
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• CPA designation is preferred.
• Experience with SAP is advantageous.
• High self-motivation and ability to work autonomously.
• Excellent communication skills and capability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Preference given to bilingual candidates fluent in English and Mandarin.

Additional Information

• Location: Pasadena, California.
• Salary: $130,000 to $150,000 annually.
