Job description
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced CDN Engineer with a strong background in enterprise Content Delivery Network platforms, particularly Akamai, and familiarity with Cloudflare. This role involves creating and fine-tuning custom Web Application Firewall (WAF) rules, managing bot mitigation and DDoS strategies, and coordinating with vendors to enhance security posture and platform capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize 5 to 10+ years of extensive experience with enterprise CDN solutions including Akamai, with Cloudflare knowledge considered an advantage.
- Create, deploy, and optimize customized WAF rules along with managed rule groups to enhance security defenses.
- Set up and regulate bot mitigation policies, including scoring thresholds and challenge or block actions to minimize malicious traffic.
- Design and implement DDoS mitigation tactics addressing both volumetric and application-layer attacks.
- Develop and uphold measures like rate limiting, IP reputation tracking, and client fingerprinting to protect against threats such as credential stuffing, scraping, account takeover, and API abuse.
- Collaborate with CDN and security partners to manage escalated threat investigations, platform enhancements, and oversee contracts and service level agreements.
- Perform vulnerability analyses and address security incidents promptly and comprehensively.
- Administer privileged access controls, applying least-privilege principles and identity security protocols across multi-cloud environments.
