About the Company
Our client is a documentary-reality series that is entering its 14th season on a prominent cable network. The series travels across America, spotlighting individuals with unique stories, careers, and interests. Central to each episode's success is the casting team, responsible for discovering the key characters who become focal points for the show's narrative.
Role Overview
We are augmenting the casting team for Season 14 with Casting Producers who will source, develop, and nurture potential contributors for the field team. These producers are assigned specific geographic regions across the country to cultivate relationships with community members, estate holders, and contributors to uncover compelling stories that captivate viewers. This role is focused on meaningful engagement rather than volume cold calling, as the team utilizes a proprietary casting platform for managing leads, outreach, and tracking, allowing producers to concentrate on interpersonal communication, vetting, and storytelling.

- Conduct phone and video interviews with prospective contributors.
- Establish and maintain ongoing relationships with sources who provide valuable leads over time.
- Evaluate leads for suitability on camera, assess safety considerations, and determine the value of their stories.
- Prepare one-sheet summaries for pitch reviews.
- Collaborate closely with the field production team to manage filming logistics.
- Use the casting system platform to track and update ongoing pipelines.

- Strong interviewing abilities with an authentic curiosity about individuals and their narratives.
- Capability to work autonomously while effectively managing a personal pipeline.
- Demonstrated persuasive, patient, and respectful communication skills during outreach.
- Exceptional written communication to engage and motivate potential contributors to respond.
- Comfortable using digital tools and open to learning proprietary casting software.
Preferred Attributes
- Previous involvement with documentary, reality, or unscripted television series is advantageous.
