Role Overview
The Cashier position is essential in delivering exceptional customer service by ensuring speedy, courteous, precise, and secure handling of transactions at checkout and return points. Additionally, Cashiers oversee the Self-Checkout zones, maintaining their proper functioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Process customer purchases and returns accurately and efficiently.
- Monitor and maintain the Self-Checkout area to ensure a seamless customer experience.
- Continuously improve product and project knowledge to assist customers effectively and identify potential sales opportunities.
- Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures aimed at preventing product loss (shrinkage).
- For Head Cashiers: coordinate the positioning of Cashiers, facilitate price verifications, authorize point-of-sale transactions and markdowns across various registers and service areas including Self-Checkout, Returns, Pro Desk, Special Services, and Tool Rental.
- Serve as the initial point of escalation for customer concerns, providing support and resolution.
- Assist in supervising, coaching, and mentoring Front End Associates by contributing to the training of new Cashiers and utilizing coaching resources to enhance team performance.
Qualifications
- Preferred: Minimum of one year experience working as a Cashier.
