FedEx Canada is hiring a cargo handler to support freight movement and processing at its Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island facility. Key duties

• Load and unload freight, then scan and sort it within the facility.
• Move freight around the site and between facilities as needed.

Skills and qualifications

• A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
• Knowledge of FedEx Canada operations and Canadian customs rules is an asset.
• Strong people skills and the ability to work well with others are important.
• You must be able to complete all required initial and recurring training successfully.
• Physical capability is essential: the role requires lifting up to 70 lb and handling packages weighing up to 150 lb with the proper equipment.
• A valid full driver’s licence and a clean driving record are required.

Schedule

This position runs Monday to Friday from 05:00 to 08:30.

If the selected candidate lives in Quebec, bilingual ability in French and English is required. For any position where driving is a core requirement, candidates must hold a valid licence such as class 5, G, or 1 AZ, and their driving record must show no more than two violations and/or accidents in the 24 months before applying. Final consideration will include a review of the current driving record, interview performance, and any driver skills assessment.
