About the Role
This role involves independently overseeing every stage of the development of new Tesla charging locations within the assigned territory. Your key responsibility is to identify optimal charging station sites for all Tesla charging products and ensure a smooth project flow from site selection through construction completion, collaborating closely with multiple internal teams and external partners. You will play a crucial role in delivering the best possible charging experience to current and prospective Tesla customers.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential new charging sites that align with the market's goals for serving existing and future electric vehicle (EV) users.
- Establish and nurture relationships with critical internal team members and external deployment partners.
- Conduct due diligence on candidate sites to assess feasibility and suitability.
- Facilitate acquiring all necessary approvals and permits from utilities and local authorities.
- Work closely with legal counsel to draft, negotiate, and finalize contracts and agreements with site hosts.
- Coordinate with design and installation teams to monitor project budgets, schedules, and logistics.
- Provide accurate forecasting of project milestones and maintain thorough documentation of the development process.
Qualifications and Experience
- Proven expertise in negotiating contracts related to real estate, utility planning, charging infrastructure, EV infrastructure policy, and local permitting is strongly preferred.
- Highly organized with the ability to juggle 20 or more projects in various stages simultaneously, ensuring nothing is overlooked.
- Self-driven and highly motivated with a strong proactive approach to execution and goal achievement.
- Business acumen to comprehend site host needs and how Tesla's charging solutions align with their strategic objectives.
- Excellent communication skills including active listening, strategic conversation, and the ability to persuade diverse stakeholders such as CEOs, facility managers, city planners, marketing managers, and utility planners.
- Strong risk management skills with a focus on proactively identifying and mitigating potential project risks to avoid delays.
