Business Data Analyst

About the Role

We are seeking a Business Data Analyst for a 2-year fixed-term contract based in Upper Hutt, Wellington, New Zealand. This full-time role combines onsite presence with some flexible work-from-home days. Key Responsibilities

• Create and update Power BI dashboards to support business reviews and operational reporting.
• Analyze data from CRM, SAP/ERP, and finance systems to deliver clear, actionable insights for decision making.
• Provide leadership and business units with ad-hoc analyses and interpret data beyond simple data extraction.
• Ensure accuracy, consistency, and alignment of reports to a single source of truth.
• Manage SAP pricing, rebates, accruals, reconciliations, and margin protection collaboratively with Finance teams.
• Lead contract operations by managing key terms in SAP and tracking contract renewals and compliance.
• Oversee SAP customer master data governance, approvals, and maintain data quality.
• Develop and maintain Excel templates for targets, incentives, and allocation purposes.
• Align targets and reporting in coordination with Finance and Business Unit leaders.
• Support Sales Incentive Plan (SIP) reporting, tracking, and budgeting.
• Identify and improve repetitive, manual reporting and data tasks through available tools.
• Enhance the use of CRM, SAP, and reporting tools by improving practical utilization and standardizing processes, templates, SOPs, and training materials.
• Maintain high standards of data quality, accuracy, and documentation.
• Collaborate with IT, Finance, and global teams to resolve data inconsistencies and issues.
• Ensure audit readiness and clarity of reporting for business users.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics, Information Systems, or related area preferred.
• Equivalent hands-on experience in business or commercial analytics also considered.
• Demonstrated expertise working as a Business Analyst, Commercial Analyst, or Reporting Analyst.
• Proficient in Power BI dashboard creation, measures development, and visualization techniques.
• Advanced Excel capabilities including complex formulas, pivot tables, and data analysis templates.
• Strong interpretive skills with the ability to explain insights clearly to non-technical audiences.
• Attention to detail with comfort handling operational and financial datasets.
• Experience collaborating effectively across Finance, Sales, Operations, and IT teams.

Additional Information

This is a temporary fixed-term role with no relocation assistance or visa sponsorship provided. The position requires no travel and no valid driving license. Hazardous materials are not involved.
