Overview

Join a significant IT transformation programme as a Business Analyst on a 12-month fixed-term contract based in Cheshire. This role offers the chance to contribute to large-scale initiatives aimed at modernizing core business systems, enhancing operational processes, and shaping the future of a national organization. You will engage with a wide range of IT projects within a Technology & Change team, collaborating with stakeholders and delivery teams to translate business requirements into effective technology solutions across different lifecycle phases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate workshops and engage dynamically with stakeholders to gather in-depth business needs.
  • Define project scopes, objectives, and detailed business requirements.
  • Develop user stories, use cases, process maps, and detailed functional documentation.
  • Analyze and improve current business processes by identifying enhancement opportunities.
  • Create detailed process flows, data flow diagrams, and models of system interactions.
  • Support data migration by mapping, validating, and reconciling data accurately.
  • Collaborate with Solution Architects and technical teams to craft feasible solutions.
  • Define requirements for reporting, dashboards, and key performance indicators in partnership with business stakeholders.
  • Prepare comprehensive test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and user acceptance testing (UAT) scripts.
  • Coordinate UAT activities, guiding business users through the testing phases.
  • Assist in deployment planning, cutover procedures, and post-implementation support.
  • Maintain close collaboration with developers, QA, and delivery teams throughout project delivery.

Candidate Profile

  • Proven experience as a Business Analyst on IT and business transformation initiatives.
  • Strong skills in requirements elicitation and conducting stakeholder workshops.
  • Expertise in business process mapping and driving process improvements.
  • Ability to author user stories, functional specifications, and acceptance criteria.
  • Experienced in data analysis and defining reporting/dashboard requirements.
  • Exposure to data migration, implementing systems, or running transformation projects.
  • Familiar with planning and executing User Acceptance Testing.
  • Comfortable working within Agile, DevOps, and Waterfall development frameworks.
  • Proficient with tools like JIRA, Azure DevOps, Microsoft Visio, and Excel.
  • Excellent communication, documentation, and stakeholder management capabilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in hospitality, retail, or service sector environments is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of ERP, CRM, POS, or enterprise business systems.
  • Familiarity with Power BI or other reporting platforms.
  • Certifications such as BCS, IIBA, or Agile methodologies.
