Position Overview

The Biosystems Technician's role focuses on the scheduled collection and delivery of Biosystems sharps containers across customer sites, ensuring compliance with waste handling protocols.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct routine pickups and deliveries of clean and full Biosystems sharps containers at customer locations according to planned schedules.
• Handle all waste types properly in compliance with relevant policies and legal requirements.
• Document daily waste bin collections and provide reports to supervisory staff.
• Deliver managed services within hospital environments, facilitating smooth transitions after system implementations.
• Maintain and monitor stock inventories in participating hospitals and coordinate additional supply needs with site contacts.
• Prepare service carts by assembling the correct types and numbers of bins tailored for each stop.
• Safely receive and register all containers according to compliance standards.
• Ensure emptied waste containers are cleaned thoroughly and stored appropriately, ready for the next collection.
• Manage delivery documentation and reception at plant facilities including those for suppliers and contractors.
• Install wall-mounted brackets and holders for Biosystems containers at sites per scheduled work plans.
• Report any safety incidents, such as container overfilling or misuse, through the company’s incident reporting system.
• Verify tagging compliance of clinical waste containers per company protocols and complete relevant collection paperwork (HWCN).
• Report any container damage or defects, like broken locks, to supervisors or managers promptly.

Candidate Requirements

• Minimum education: High school diploma or equivalent.
• Possession of a full Category C Driving Licence.
• Hold a valid ADR Licence for transporting hazardous materials.
• Ability to work autonomously without direct supervision.
• Strong communication skills with a personable and professional demeanor.
• Calm, practical, and resilient personality capable of managing customer expectations and building strong relationships with colleagues and clients.
• Experience or willingness to handle manual tasks including possible exposure to handheld vibrating tools and hazardous substances.
• Capability to manage manual handling and clinical waste in compliance with safety standards.
