Job description
Role Overview
The Automation and Process Control Domain Engineer will spearhead the design, development, and maintenance of automation systems within an industrial setting. This role focuses on programming control systems, enhancing production efficiency, ensuring cybersecurity, and driving safety and compliance initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Create, program, and deploy automation and process control solutions, including PLC and control system software.
- Ensure continuous and reliable operation of automation equipment through scheduled preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairing faults, and managing assets effectively.
- Support maintenance scheduling, manage spare parts inventories, and promote long-term sustainability of automation system lifecycles.
- Oversee cybersecurity aspects of process control domains by implementing security measures, managing patch updates, backup procedures, and incident responses.
- Maintain comprehensive and current records of PCD assets and enforce adherence to security standards.
- Promote safety and compliance by making sure automation systems meet all legal, safety, and industry regulations.
- Conduct risk evaluations, apply mitigation strategies, and uphold maintenance programs related to safety protocols.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possess a Bachelor's degree in Instrumentation, Controls and Automation, Electrical and Electronics, or Mechatronics Engineering.
- At least four years of relevant experience in industrial automation environments.
- Proficient in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and adapting control software.
- Strong expertise in HMI/SCADA systems and industrial communication networks.
- Experience within the FMCG sector is considered a plus.
