Job description
About the Role
We are seeking an AutoCAD Drafter to produce precise construction-ready distribution drawings in AutoCAD following Canadian utility standards. This role involves working on active projects collaborating with prominent Canadian utilities and engineering consultancies.
Key Responsibilities
- Create plan-and-profile and construction drawings adhering to client CAD standards.
- Draft layouts for overhead and underground utility distribution, including pole framing and details.
- Incorporate revisions such as redlines and as-built notes with accuracy.
- Maintain client-standard layering, blocks, external references, and title blocks.
- Perform project self-checks before submissions and address review feedback thoroughly.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in electrical or utility distribution drafting is advantageous.
- Familiarity with SPIDAcalc, GIS, or landbase processes is a plus.
- Knowledge of Canadian/North American utility standards such as CSA or NESC is desirable.
Required Skills and Attributes
- Diploma or degree in drafting, civil, electrical, mechanical engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- Competence in 2D drafting using AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of drafting principles including layering, plan-and-profile drawings, and title block management.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Proficient written English skills for drafting review comments and communications.
