About the Role
Nua Healthcare Services, located in Monaghan, County Monaghan, Ireland, is dedicated to offering residential, supported living, day, and community outreach programs to both children and adults with diverse and complex care needs. Our services cater to individuals with autism, Asperger syndrome, acquired brain injuries, challenging behaviours, intellectual disabilities including Alzheimer's or dementia, mental health recovery needs, and personality disorders.
Main Responsibilities
- Assist individuals with planning and carrying out their daily routines.
- Support service users to access and engage in local community activities.
- Help individuals work towards educational and personal development objectives.
- Aid in maintaining and enhancing independent living skills such as cooking, cleaning, attending appointments, laundry, and sustaining family/social relationships.
- Abide by all organizational policies, procedures, standards, relevant regulations, and professional codes.
- Maintain flexibility to work across various shifts on a seven-day roster to accommodate service needs.
- Carry out additional relevant duties as needed in the role.
Person Specification
- No specific educational qualifications necessary—extensive training and professional development are provided.
- Prior support work or comparable life experience is advantageous but not required.
- Demonstrate strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective relationship building.
- Display a positive outlook, eagerness to learn, and a genuine interest in assisting others to achieve independence and meaning in their lives.
- Possess a full driving licence or be actively working towards one.
- Show adaptability and dependability to support shift-based work requirements.
