Job Overview

We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Store Manager to support our store operations, customer interactions, and team development initiatives. You will play a key role in daily store functions and assist in maintaining smooth operations.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support daily operational activities and store functions.
  • Greet customers with a positive attitude and address their inquiries or concerns effectively.
  • Manage merchandise from unloading deliveries through stocking stockrooms and sales floors; ensure seasonal displays are maintained appropriately.
  • Carry out opening and closing procedures as required.
  • Implement corporate policies including Pull and Hold/Destroy processes, Task Compliance, and complete Key Survey reports along with other store communications.
  • Maintain promotional displays and front-store fixtures to maximize marketing impact.
  • Assist with merchandise ordering, processing of damaged goods, payroll tracking, scheduling, and managing cash deposits and receipts.
  • Keep the sales floor stocked and the stockroom organized according to company standards.
  • Secure company assets, including guarding store cash responsibly.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies, safety standards, and ensure staff compliance.
  • Help supervise, train, and foster development of store associates alongside the Store Manager.
  • Maintain a respectful, safe, and professional environment for customers, staff, and leadership.
  • Oversee cleanliness across the store including restrooms, floors, trash disposal, and overall presentation.
  • Perform other assigned duties as necessary.

Qualifications and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be capable of understanding and explaining operational guidelines such as merchandise schematics.
  • Previous experience managing retail, grocery, or drug store environments is advantageous.
  • Physical demands include lifting up to 55 lbs, frequent walking, standing, stooping, kneeling, climbing, pushing, pulling, and repetitive lifting.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to thrive in a high-energy, team-focused workplace.
  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, decision-making, and customer service skills are vital.
