Role Overview

The Assistant Finance Manager plays a key role in supporting financial planning, reporting, project finance, working capital management, compliance, internal controls, and coordination of operations related to import shipments and finance teams.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with preparing annual budgets, cash flow forecasts, and rolling financial projections to aid planning.
• Generate monthly management accounts, MIS reports, and analyze variances for leadership review.
• Support business decision-making through the development of financial models, scenario analyses, and profitability reviews.
• Monitor project-related costs, margins, work-in-progress, and track unbilled revenues.
• Collaborate with Project Managers to align billing schedules and control project expenditures.
• Regularly assess project profitability and proactively identify financial risks.
• Manage accounts receivable, track aging reports, and initiate follow-ups on overdue payments.
• Support credit control policies to maintain efficient days sales outstanding (DSO).
• Oversee supplier payments ensuring effective use of working capital.
• Ensure adherence to UAE VAT and corporate tax laws and regulations.
• Assist with internal and external audit processes, resolving issues promptly.
• Maintain financial records compliant with IFRS and organizational policies.
• Enhance internal controls related to procurement, approvals, and expenses.
• Identify and recommend improvements for automation and upgrades in ERP and finance systems.
• Support introduction of financial dashboards and digital reporting tools.
• Coordinate clearance of import shipments with freight forwarders, including customs formalities and bank documentation under Letters of Credit.
• Manage import document clearance liaising with DAFZA and JAFZA authorities.
• Facilitate cohesive communication and collaboration among finance multifunctional teams.

Qualifications and Experience

• University degree coupled with professional accountancy qualification such as ACA, ACCA, or CIMA.
• At least 7 years of relevant work experience, ideally within similar industry sectors.
