Artificial Intelligence Engineer

Role Overview

A leading company seeks an experienced Senior Artificial Intelligence Engineer to assume full technical responsibility for customer-centric AI solutions, overseeing the entire lifecycle from design through deployment. This position emphasizes creating robust, production-level AI systems that include advanced Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), document analysis, and autonomous agent workflows aimed at addressing practical operational issues.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and manage comprehensive large language model (LLM) and autonomous AI systems, prioritizing stability, cost-effectiveness, and high performance.
• Provide technical leadership by making architectural choices, formulating evaluation and monitoring approaches, and mentoring engineering team members.
• Engage directly with clients to convert vague requirements into detailed technical plans, serving as the main liaison for customer communications.

Profile and Requirements

• Professional experience ranging from 3 to 6 years developing and maintaining operational AI and machine learning systems, with at least one implemented production-grade autonomous AI solution.
• Advanced proficiency in Python coupled with familiarity in modern AI/LLM frameworks and cloud platforms such as AWS or Azure.
• Solid grasp of balancing latency, cost, and quality aspects in AI systems and the capability to independently resolve challenges in client-facing contexts.
• Fluency in German at C1 or higher level and English; candidates must have legal residence and valid work authorization in Germany.

Additional Information

• Compensation ranges between 70000 EUR and 80000 EUR annually.
• This role is fully remote but requires occasional travel to on-site locations within Germany.
